BRIEF
The Eurasian Prize
In Urban Development
Environmental awareness has become a trend in the society so influential that it cannot be ignored when building and re-designing urban spaces. The trend dictates its own terms, and urban planners who do not comply are certain to be left behind. In its 14th edition, the Eurasian Prize places special emphasis on sustainability as a huge factor in today’s urban development.
Overall evaluation will be based on the following criteria with their relevance depending on each subcategory:
Purpose focus
Sustainability
Practical utility
Construction, operation and maintenance efficiency
Social awareness
Operational safety
Aesthetical contribution
Innovative solutions and approach
Sustainability aspects and criteria
Subcategories:
Urban Planning
Urban area development plans, agglomerations, conurbations, settlement systems, general locality plans, and area planning concepts.
Urban Infrastructure
Urban transit systems, pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure, public health infrastructure, etc.
Urban Environment Design
Design of urban amenities and all kinds of open spaces with public access (e.g.: parks, squares, streets, etc.).

AWARDS
The Eurasian Prize Statuette
The Eurasian Prize Statuette is only awarded to the entrants of Professional level who take the first place in any of the award subcategories.
Award Certificates
All winners and finalists of the Eurasian Prize, regardless of the entrant level, category and subcategory, are awarded the Eurasian Prize Finalist Certificate. The Certificates vary based on the place taken and specify the entrant level (Professional/Student):
- The Eurasian Prize Gold is awarded to Professional level entrants, alongside with the Eurasian Prize Statuette, and to Student level entrants for the first place in any of the subcategories
- The Eurasian Prize Silver is awarded to Professional and Student level entrants for the second place in any of the subcategories
- The Eurasian Prize Bronze is awarded to Professional and Student level entrants for the 3rd place in any of the subcategories
The Master Hand Trophy
The Master Hand (rus. “Рука Мастера”) is a highly-authoritative awards initiative that has been undertaken yearly by the regional branch of the Union of Architects of Russia for the last eleven years. In 2018, the Master’s Hand joins the Eurasian Prize Awards program as its special nomination targeting specifically built projects in the categories Architecture and Design, the Urban Environment Design subcategory of the Urban Development category, as well as both built projects and concepts in the Urban Planning and Urban Infrastructure subcategories of the Urban Development category.
The Master’s Hand trophy is awarded for entries that:
- are submitted by the Professional level entrants
- are built projects that take the first place in the categories Architecture and Design, the Urban Environment Design subcategory of the Urban Development category
- are built projects and concepts that take the first place in the Urban Planning and Urban Infrastructure subcategories of the Urban Development category
FEES
- EARLY Entry Deadline — May 1, 2018: ₽6,000 RUB (ca. $105 USD) per entry
- REGULAR Entry Deadline — July 10, 2018: ₽10,000 RUB (ca. $169 USD) per entry
- FINAL Entry Deadline — July 25, 2018: ₽15,000 RUB (ca. $259 USD) per entry
