Tamayouz Women in Architecture and Construction Award for Near East and North Africa – NENA

1. Introduction

The Tamayouz Women in Architecture and Construction Award is an excellence award intended for women who have contributed to the fields of architecture and construction in the Near East and North Africa region.

2. Presentation

The award consists of two categories: Women of Outstanding Achievement and Rising Stars. The first category recognizes a woman’s positive contribution to the field of architecture and the status of women in this field, as well as other professional achievements and a lifelong commitment to the profession. The second category recognizes excellence in design, leadership, early achievements, and acknowledges the candidate’s bright future.

3. About the Project

The award is open to women who are from countries within the NENA region (see eligible countries below) and are employed in the region specializing in architecture and construction, or who are employed/freelancing in another country but whose contribution has had a direct impact on the built environment in the NENA region. Candidates must also have contributed to their communities.

4. Schedule

  • February 1, 2026: Award launch;
  • July 1, 2026: Registration deadline;
  • August 2026: Winner announcement.

5. Prizes

  • The winner of the Women of Outstanding Achievement category will receive a ceramic statuette created by Iraqi artist Dia Azzawi;
  • Both winners and highly commended candidates will receive the Tamayouz Medal of Excellence, along with a certificate;
  • The winner and highly commended candidates will receive flights and accommodation to attend the award ceremony.
