Rocca Farnese di Ischia di Castro




The “Competition of ideas for the restoration and enhancement of the Farnese fortress of Ischia di Castro” has as its object the self-sustainable redevelopment and recovery project of the Rocca Farnese of Ischia di Castro, in the province of Viterbo, property subject to constraint as a National Monument.

The competition is promoted by the Young Group A.D.S.I. Lazio in collaboration with Fondazione Italiana Accenture and aims to involve the world of young people, universities and historical residences in a synergistic and transversal way.

The goal is to create interdisciplinary groups of students to stimulate them to work on ideas for the retraining of historical artistic assets bound in rural areas, aimed at promoting the territory.

Participation in the competition

The competition of ideas is open to all the subjects registered at any university based in the Lazio region and to all those who have obtained any university degree (specialization school, doctorate) for less than three years.



The submission of project proposals must take place no later than April 30, 2018, 23:59 hours.



FIRST CLASSIFIED: Cash prize of € 1,500, a Targa, the publication of the project on the A.D.S.I. Lazio Gruppo Giovani related to the competition and the involvement in the eventual realization of the proposed project;

SECOND CLASSIFIED: Cash prize of € 1,000, a Targa, publication of the project on the A.D.S.I. Lazio Youth Group relating to the competition;

THIRD CLASSIFIED: Cash prize of € 500, a Targa, the publication of the project on the A.D.S.I. Lazio Youth Group related to the competition.






The project proposals will be judged by a commission made up of five members, chosen among the leading experts in the disciplines of architecture and engineering, in economic and financial disciplines and in humanistic and archaeological disciplines, chaired by prof. arch. Giovanni Carbonara (University of Rome La Sapienza, Faculty of Architecture), by prof. Giampiero Marchesi (Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Department for Economic Development and Cohesion of the Ministry of Economic Development), prof. arch. Francesco Scoppola (MiBACT, Director General of Education and Culture), by dr. Francesco Sforza Cesarini (President A.D.S.I. Lazio), from dr. Stefano Aluffi Pentini (owner of the Rocca Farnese of Ischia di Castro) and by the architect Patrizio Mario Mergè (President of A.D.S.I. Lazio Youth Group).
