Premi DesignEuropa | DesignEuropa Awards #DesignEuropa

BRIEF

DesignEuropa awards celebrate excellence in the field of design and management among registered Community Designers (DMCs), whether they are individual rights holders or small or large enterprises.

Designs are a fundamental driver of innovation and growth. According to some studies, design-intensive industries generate 12% of all jobs in the EU and almost 13% of its GDP. Furthermore, investments in the design sector are profitable as the design companies generate 38% higher revenue per employee than those that are not.

The DMC, registered at EUIPO, is more than a mere intellectual property right because it marks the transition from design to production, starting from a valid idea and transforming it into a profitable resource for the business reality. The findings obtained by the DMC are remarkable. In fact, thousands of companies and individuals from around the world have chosen to protect their designs in the EU in this way. Since the creation of the DMC in 2003, EUIPO has received almost one million designs.

The awards aim to provide a distinction to companies and designers who have introduced an exceptional design or model to the market with the support and protection of the registered Community design.

Prizes are awarded every two years. The ceremony for the next edition will take place in Warsaw in November 2018.

SCHEDULE

The period for the submission of applications for the 2018 edition will start on 15 November 2017 and will end on 15 May 2018.

AWARDS
