16th International Architecture Exhibition, La Biennale Di Venezia

Pavilion Of Turkey open call for architecture students

BRIEF

La Biennale di Venezia will take place from May 26th to November 25th 2018, in Venice, Italy.

As the coordinator of the Pavilion of Turkey, Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (?KSV) will host a series of events and student workshops throughout the Biennial.

This open call by the curatorial team invites students of architecture from all over the world to apply for these workshops in the Pavilion of Turkey.

THEME

Vardiya / The Shift, is a research program of a series of events and workshops aiming for the active contribution of architecture students to build up the exhibition content throughout the Biennale.

On weekly shifts, students will be sent to Venice with the support of ?KSV.

This program provides for the necessary environment and facilities for its participants while encouraging an active approach for being producers of the exhibition content.

PURPOSE

The purpose of the Open Call is to select the students who will participate in the exhibition “Vardiya
/Shift” and related workshops (hereinafter referred to as “Vardiya/Shift”) to be designed by the “curatorial team” listed under Article 5 of this terms of reference, within the context of the Pavilion of Turkey coordinated by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (hereinafter referred to as “IKSV”) as part of the 16th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia to be held between 26 May and 25 November 2018 in Venice, Italy.

 

SCHEDULE

18 December 2017 – Announcement of the Open Call
2 January 2018 – Deadline for Questions
1 February 2018– Deadline for Open Call applications
1  March 2018– Announcement of the selected students for Vardiya/Shift and for the execution of
agreement after the evaluation process

 

AWARDS

Travel period prescribed for each student is one week. During the one week period students will be accommodated at student dormitories in Venice. The accommodation costs of these dormitories shall be covered by the organizations affiliated with IKSV.
