NDA Nidos de Agua – Terraviva Competitions

1. Introduction

The NDA Nidos de Agua competition is an opportunity for designers and architects from all over the world to challenge themselves to create a micro-architecture pavilion within the La Albufera Natural Park, one of the most significant ecosystems in the Mediterranean basin.

2. Presentation

The competition is organized by Terraviva Competitions and aims to create a space that is sensitive and visionary, capable of enhancing the visitor experience while preserving the local ecological balance. The program is intentionally open, allowing participants to choose any location within the park and define how their intervention relates to the water, vegetation, horizon, and access.

3. About the Project

The pavilion can float, rise slightly above the wetlands, integrate into the rice fields, or settle along the constantly changing coastline. The scale is flexible, but environmental responsibility and contextual coherence are essential. Instead of imposing a form, proposals must frame the landscape, intensify perception, and demonstrate how micro-architecture can act as a mediator between human presence and fragile ecosystems.
