Call for Projects

BRIEF

GravInArte is a call for projects conceived by SalentoSlowTravel, powered by Are_lab, open to artists, architects, designers (national and international) that intends to select two artistic proposals for the realization of two Land Art works to be installed at the Gravina della Madonna della Scala of Massafra (Ta) – Puglia.

The realization of the winning works aims to be an opportunity for meeting, dialogue, activation and territorial participation, in which art becomes an instrument of knowledge of the territory and moment of reflection on the themes of environmental sustainability and ecology.

Starting from Massafra and in particular, from the Gravina della Madonna della Scala, the artists will be called to enhance the unique and characteristic elements of the tarine murgia landscape: the “gravine”, deep karst rocky ravines, rich in their interior biodiversity heritage to be protected and enhanced.

The works, which the artists will create site specific, will constitute an itinerary between sculpture and landscape in a naturalistic context unique in the world.

Theme: Balance between man and nature | think back to the past for a better future
