Ēclos Capsule Collection – Call for Submissions – DesignTO
1. Introduction
DesignTO and Cosentino are launching an open competition for Canadian designers, inviting them to create innovative projects using the mineral surface Ēclos. The selected projects will be evaluated by a distinguished jury, and winners will have the opportunity to see their works exhibited as part of an artifact collection.
2. Presentation
Ēclos is a mineral surface that combines minerals and recycled materials, featuring a low crystalline silica content. It is produced through an advanced process that blends robotic engineering with integrated decorative techniques.
3. About the Project
The competition aims to explore the creative possibilities of the Ēclos surface in objects, furniture, or sculptures. Designers are invited to submit proposals that explore the inherent qualities of the material and use it innovatively across different contexts and environments.
4. Schedule
- May 22, 2026: Final deadline for project submissions.
- June 2026: Jury session.
- June 2026: Notification of selected designers.
- July to August 2026: Project development phase.
- August to September 2026: Project fabrication phase.
- November 2026: Launch of the Ēclos Capsule Collection in Toronto.
5. Awards
- 1st Place: CAD $1,000, plus exhibition opportunities in Canadian and American cities.
- 2nd Place: Exhibition opportunities in Canadian and American cities.
- 3rd Place: Exhibition opportunities in Canadian and American cities.
