BRIEF

The competition is open to teams of designers, artists, and architects where:

1) (At least) the identified team lead was born, raised, or educated in Michigan, or previously held academic position or is currently based in Michigan.

AND

2) The team demonstrates a commitment to and capability of execution, from design to fabrication and final installation within the provided timeline.

Teams may be comprised of individuals with separate or shared professional affiliations, or none at all. No individual may be part of multiple teams.

SCHEDULE

Application opening: May 10, 2018
Application deadline: June 24, 2018
Finalist Selection: June 28, 2018

Site visit date: July – TBD

Final Design Submission: July 25, 2018
Presentation & Jury Review: August 1, 2018

 

AWARDS

Each finalist team selected will receive a $2,500 stipend intended to support the team in  progressing through Stage 2 of the competition. Finalists that are not able to fully complete Stage  2 of the competition may be required to forfeit their stipend. Finalist teams will be provided with jury
comments as well as eligibility and capacity concerns, if any, that will need to be address in Stage 2 submission materials.
Following the presentation event, the design jury will select 2 winning teams to progress to Stage  3. These teams will each receive a $40,000 stipend for detailing, fabrication and installation of their design in a confimed site location
