CTS Call of the Sea – Terraviva Competitions

1. Introduction
The CTS Call of the Sea competition is an architecture competition challenging participants to design a small-scale accommodation over the water within the village of Torosiaje, a unique Bajau community located off the coast of Indonesia.
2. Presentation
The goal of the competition is to create a space capable of hosting up to 6–8 guests, offering an immersive experience deeply connected to the life, culture, and rhythms of the sea. The project should propose a new form of hospitality — simple, respectful, and integrated into the existing context — where visitors can engage in everyday activities.
3. About the Project
The competition seeks to explore how architecture can become a bridge between visitors and the community, enhancing both the local economy and cultural identity. The project may take different forms, ranging from a single structure to modular or dispersed systems, allowing flexibility in spatial organization and guest experience.
