BRIEF

Ideasforward wants to give young creative people from around the world the opportunity to express their views on the future of societies through their innovative and visionary proposals.

We are an experimental platform seeking progressive ideas that reflect on emerging themes. The technologies are compelling issues in the societies of the future and the involvement of the whole community is imperative. In an era of globalization where communication was dominated by the technological revolution, there is the need to rethink the cities and how Man relates in a global World as well as rethink the economic, social and cultural patterns of contemporary societies.eco design, sustainable architecture, new materials, concepts and

 

 

AIM OF THE COMPETITION – 24H

 

A space where the time limit is used to stimulate your creativity.

This competition proposes to give responses in 24H to the social problems, future visions, climate changes, humanitarian causes and sociologic problems of the contemporary societies.

Commitment, perseverance, inspiration and hard work are the necessary bases to develop a proposal that meets the premises that will be released regularly in the brief of the competition.

We challenge you to prove your talent in 24 hours!

You have 24H to develop a proposal that responds to the program contained on a brief that you only know on the same day that start competition.

JURY

Diogo Burnay

Diogo Burnay graduated in Architecture at the Faculdade de Arquitetura,

Universidade Técnica de Lisboa, Portugal (FA-UTL).

He has a Masters from the Bartlett, University College London, where hecurrently is an external examiner.

He worked in Lisbon, London and in Macau with Manuel Vicente.

He has taught and lectured in schools in Hong Kong, in Europe. He was Cass

Gilbert Professor at CALA and CDes, University of Minnesota, in 2002 and2006.

He was also the Ralph Hawkins Professor at the School of Architecture,University of Texas, Arlington, in 2007.

He taught design studio from 1997 to 2011 at the Faculdade de Arquitectura

(FA -UTL) before becoming the director of the School of Architecture at Dalhouse University, in Halifax – Canada.

António Câmara

António Câmara is a Professor at Universidade Nova de Lisboa.

He has a BS (IST, 1977), and a PhD in Civil Engineering (Virginia Tech, 1982).

He was a Visiting Professor at Cornell University (1988-89) and MIT (1998 -99).

António Câmara has more than 200 international publications, including the book Environmental Systems, (Oxford University Press, 2002)

.He is a serial entrepreneur having started three public companies: YDreams Global (listed in Toronto); Azorean (Euronext Paris); and Ynvisible (Toronto).

Antonio Camara received Pessoa Award in 2006, and an EU Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2008

.

Pedro Vada

Architect and Urbanist based in São Paulo, professor at Escola da Cidade and Estácio de Sá University.

Developed several urban projects and works as Projects Editor at ArchDaily.

Fatih  Yavuz

Fatih was born in 1981 in Foça, İzmir. He graduated from İzmir İnönü High School in 1998 and completed his undergraduate studies in the Department of Architecture of METU in 2003.

He completed his graduate studies in the same department by the dissertation of the thesis titled “The Architecture of New Territories: The Dutch Embassy in Berlin” in 2006.

He took part in various competitions and architectural projects in Dr. Semra Teber and Semra-Özcan Uygur Architecture Offices between the years 2002 – 2004. He was a member of the organization team of 7th National Meeting of Architecture Students “Buluşma7” organized at METU on February 2003.

He got the “1st Honorable Mention” award in Archiprix-TR 2003 with his graduation project “Maçka Hotel”. As an instructor, he attended the design studio at METU, Faculty of Architecture and TOBB Economy and Technology University. Also he participated in various architectural design studios as a guest jury member. Also he participated in various architectural design studios as jury member.

In addition to his architectural practice, he attends workshops and events as a member of TSMD and Mimarlar Derneği 1927.

As a co-founder of FREA, Fatih continues his architectural practices with Emre Şavural in Ankara.
