CANADIAN SOCIETY OF LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTS

BRIEF

The CSLA Awards of Excellence celebrate work that is inspiring, exhilarating, and remarkably diverse. View our previous award recipients to experience the ever-expanding range of landscape architecture in Canada today. The Awards of Excellence honour distinctive design, ground-breaking research, sustainable landscape management and much more. Our CSLA landscape architects revitalize derelict inner-city shorelines and fashion pedestrian-friendly streetscapes. They build avant-garde residential gardens and turn brownfields into sustainable parks. They shape our urban landscapes, spearheading city-wide planning and design. Each year, jurors select exceptional projects across many areas of expertise.

SCHEDULE

All submissions must be received at the Department of Landscape Architecture in the University of Manitoba by 4:30 pm CT on Friday, January 25th, 2019.

AWARDS

National Awards will be made for work that demonstrates excellence against all judging criteria. These awards will become nominees for the Jury’s Award of Excellence, which will be given to a project which best demonstrates the CSLA’s vision, which is, advancing the art, science and practice of landscape architecture.

FEES

The fee for the CSLA Professional Awards Program is $340 plus applicable GST

The jury is comprised of prominent professionals selected by the component associations in: o British Columbia o Prairies (Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba – in rotation) o Ontario o Quebec o Atlantic Provinces (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, P.E.I., Newfoundland & Labrador – as available) o Nunavut and Northwest Territories – as available o Plus an external juror (external to the profession).

The President of the CSLA may also be present and participate in an ex-officio role. The list of jurors is posted on the CSLA web site after the jury meeting. The jury meeting is held in Winnipeg in February each year.
