1. Introduction
The RDQ Ruinas de Quilmes competition is an opportunity for architects and designers to reimagine the experience of the Sacred City of Quilmes by creating a contemporary open-air museum. The goal is to design a new Visitor Center, conceived as the main entrance to the site, alongside small-scale architectural and landscape interventions to improve accessibility and enrich the visitor journey.
2. Presentation
The competition is a collaboration between Ruinas de Quilmes and Terraviva Competitions, aiming to transform the ruins into a coherent and engaging narrative. Participants are invited to develop an integrated strategy that connects architecture, landscape, and heritage, creating a unique experience for visitors.
3. About the Project
The project aims to create a visitor center that serves as the main entrance to the site, along with small-scale architectural and landscape interventions to improve accessibility and enrich the visitor experience. Participants must consider the relationship between new and existing structures, as well as the sensitive integration of the intervention into the natural and archaeological context.
