MAC Panamá – International Open Competition for the Architectural Design of the New Headquarters of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Panama

Introduction
The Museum of Contemporary Art of Panama (MAC Panamá) is launching an international architecture competition for the design of its new headquarters, marking a turning point in the museum’s history and in the consolidation of Panama as a cultural reference in Latin America.
Presentation
With more than six decades of history, MAC Panamá is the country’s leading institution dedicated to modern and contemporary art. The creation of a new headquarters responds to a strategic vision of institutional expansion aimed at strengthening its role as a center for creation, education, and critical thinking, while consolidating its connection with the local and international artistic community.
About the Project
The competition invites architects and multidisciplinary teams from around the world to imagine a building that engages with Panama City. The architectural proposal should reflect values of inclusion, sustainability, openness, and social commitment. The new headquarters should not be an isolated object, but rather an active cultural infrastructure designed to integrate into the urban fabric and enhance public life through art.
