Concours Pierre

1. Introduction

Concours Pierre is an experimental platform that allows future architects to explore the use of stone in construction, innovate in building methods, and respond to environmental challenges with frugal and exemplary architecture.

2. Presentation

The competition is organized by ENSA Paris-Val de Seine, in partnership with SNROC and the Association Les Pierres Sauvages de Belcastel.
The current edition, titled “Hybrid Stone”, explores hybridization in construction, use, environment, landscape, and social aspects.

3. About the Project

The competition encourages students to explore how stone can address environmental challenges such as:

  • Land-use efficiency
  • Urban regeneration
  • Resource reuse

Projects should propose alternatives to urban expansion, focusing on reuse, adaptation, repair, and preservation of land functions.

4. Schedule

  • January 2026: Registration opens
  • May 3, 2026 (11 PM): Submission deadline
  • June 11, 2026: Jury and award ceremony

5. Awards

  • 1st Prize: €10,000 (amount not clearly confirmed)
  • 2nd Prize: €5,000
  • 3rd Prize: €3,000

6. Jury

The jury is composed of recognized professionals committed to architectural innovation and material research.
The president is Boris Bouchet, an award-winning architect.
