VGA Villa Gioia – Terraviva Competitions

The VGA Villa Gioia competition is an opportunity for architects and designers to reimagine an old historical heritage site located in Bedizzole, a small town near Lake Garda in Italy. The objective is to transform the site into a retirement residence for the elderly, with a focus on creating environments of comfort, care, and social interaction.

2. Presentation

The competition is a partnership between Terraviva Competitions and Nishisando, with the support of Sou Fujimoto. The contest is open to architects and designers from around the world and aims to create a place that serves as an example of how architecture can support aging with dignity, autonomy, and a strong sense of belonging.

3. About the Project

The project consists of transforming the old historical heritage into a retirement residence for the elderly, focusing on creating comfortable environments, care, and social interaction. Participants should explore the adaptive reuse of the site, creating a dynamic environment that combines private, shared spaces, and outdoor areas.
