Design Brief 2018 World Sneaker Championship
You’re invited to enter the WORLD SNEAKER CHAMPIONSHIP design tournament and join others in the creation of the next generation of sneaker culture community – powered by Foot Locker. You are welcome to enter your original design, vote on your favorites, or enter AND vote.

The Brand:
PENSOLE is recognized globally as the leading learning resource for the footwear industry by discovering, developing and placing the next generation of footwear designers in the industry.
The Consumer:
Our consumers support PENSOLE’s mission to elevate the footwear industry. They are designers, influencers and collectors. LEADING the TREND instead of following it with their style starting from TOE to HEAD.
The Design:
Create a PREMIUM Lifestyle sneaker that features original styling, quality materials. Design must include 1) the PENSOLE logo on the upper and outsole and 2) the WSC logo (The Globe) on the upper.
The Distribution:
The original colorway of the winning shoe will be distributed exclusively at select Foot Locker stores globally.
China Distribution:
An exclusive China colorway will be distributed through EDCO, the official China partner of World Sneaker Championship.

2 Designers who make the Semi-finalists round will receive

4 Designers who make the TOP 4 round will receive
WACOM Intuos Pro (Total retail value of $1,000)
8 Designers who make the TOP 8 round will receive
WACOM Bamboo Slate (Total retail value of $ 1,200)
A free trip to attend the 2018 WSC’X event in CHINA
16 Designers who make the TOP 16 round will receive
WACOM Bamboo Duo (Total retail value of $480)
A scholarship to attend one of PENSOLE Master Classes (Cash value of $96,000

FEES
DESIGNERS, IT’S FREE FOR YOU TO ENTER. Once you make the TOP 16, the tiers of physical product prizes (sponsored by WACOM) are awarded to the winners in the final five brackets. If you are the winner of 2018 World Sneaker Championship, you will have a limited edition run of your design made and sold at select Foot Locker locations. In addition you will receive $20,018 cash prize as well as product prizes from WACOM to aid in further developing your skills as a designer.
The only “cost” for a designer is “time” – Design the best sneaker that the world will vote for!!
